How to create stringent Bio-secure bubbles for Sports Players using IoT?

Arjun / 10 Dec 2021 / IOT Basics | IOT Industry | IOT AI

The entirely new concept of safety for world-class players is to avoid transmission of infection. The disruption caused by the pandemic cannot be denied even in the arena of sports. The disturbance caused by the COVID-19 is on the rise during July 2020, when international cricket was kept on hold for four months. However, the international tournaments resumed and played under very safe conditions in a bio-secure bubble.

An overview on bio-secure bubbles

It’s an idea of creating safety protocols to protect the players from getting exposed to the virus. An isolated environment is created which inhabits IoT safety and security from the outside world to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection.

Only authorized dignitaries such as sports persons, support staff, and match officials may enter the bio-secure bubble. Moreover, authorized personals have to undergo negative testing procedures to enter the safe zone.

How to step into the bubble?

Only allowed personnel such as players, management, authorized staff to carry on their routine can only step inside the bubble after showing negative results of tests performed. For simplifying this process, various IoT career opportunities are made to hire an expert team.

  • Players must follow some restrictions

The taking part players are only allowed to access the grounds and the hotels where they are living. However, it minimizes the chances of coming in contact with the virus.

  • No rendezvouses

The players have a very stringent strategy such that no friends, no family, no visitors, and relatives may visit during the tournament. None of the players might reenter the bio-secure bubble if they compared to meet their friends.

  • Provided extra time for mandatory isolation

It has been advised to players to reach the tournament venue before the scheduled tournament to perform testing. If any notions are seen of infection, the players can be isolated for a specific time. It is very much mandatory for players to follow the quarantine rule.

  • Tournament without spectators

Empty stadium policy has to be installed then the players have to play their games behind the doors under the protective shield of bio-secure bubbles. A suggestion was kept to simulate the audience into the stadiums but was axed as far as the conditions are seen.

  • Remote commentators

Remote commentary is being recommended to reduce the overflow of personals into the bio-secure bubble. Now the players have to take care of themselves because no empires will be seen in the vicinity of the bio bubble.

IoT and bio-secure bubble

To avoid the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus, groundbreaking technology has been intervened to cater to security norms. Several organizations have suggestions to avoid transmissions, such as testing, contact tracing, and AI.

Bluetooth technology has been installed in the stadiums to track and trace any COVID-19 suspect completely. The working personals were regularly monitored to check whether they are following the basic norms of COVID outbreaks, such as social distancing and avoiding over slow.

Artificial intelligence took the benefits of Bluetooth technology to automate contact tracing. The contact tracing, with the help of artificial intelligence, was divided into three substages.

  1. Contact identification
  2. Contact listing
  3. Contact follow up.

IoT wearables embedded on a chip were carried by an entire set of tournament authorities, players, and workers, enabling GPS devices to get continuously tracked.

Final Words

Players were very energetic and enthusiastic that they were going out to play the tournaments, but security must be maintained in their wardrobe. Enormous IoT job openings are created, and the respective authorities are working every moment to ensure that they provide complete coverage of security by offering bio-secure bubbles.
