NXP USA, Inc. seeks Embedded Software Engineers to work at its office in San Jose, CA

Job Description:

Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for the semiconductor industry. Design, develop, and test software systems and applications for enhancements and new products. Develop, test, and document software programs, including operating systems and/or applications to be used in new products or the modification of existing products. Facilitate the smooth integration of secure microcontrollers and embedded development platforms into relevant applications. Provide hardware and software technical support, software development, and training for embedded reference design systems. Analyze the impact of the software and algorithms for the definition of the next generation of SoC. Contribute to code porting, performance analysis and propose optimizations. Create, evaluate, and demonstrate hardware and software and associated training materials. Solve system design issues and respond to technical questions. 5% international and 5% domestic travel required.


Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, foreign equivalent, or closely related field.

Required skills:

Position requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis, or 6 months of experience involving the following:

  • C/C++ and Java coding skills;
  • Python script coding;
  • Use of ARM or C89 Compilers;
  • Computer architecture and design; and
  • Hardware and Firmware interactions.
