Siemens Healthineers is looking for a talented and motivated individual to serve as a Sr. Data Engineer within our Data Engineering and Integration team. The individual will contribute to the overall objectives of the department and will be a hands-on technical resource to a variety of cross-functional teams and global project initiatives. The candidate will have to have a solid background in key technologies with a focus on data management, data integration, system design and implementation experience. The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated IT professional that enjoys working closely with commercial business leaders. This person will be inspired by technology and its use in an ever changing, fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and support ETL pipelines for data ingestion and integration
  • Create data quality validation, error handling, logging, and notification frameworks
  • Design, develop and maintain enterprise data warehouse, data marts and related data artifacts (logical models, physical models, semantic layer, etc.)
  • Create data models optimized for data science initiatives and/or end user analytical reporting needs
  • Design and implement security models for data access control that meet GDPR and various data privacy requirements
  • Perform data profiling to understand data domains, data dependencies and lineage
  • Effectively collaborate with external teams including sales, marketing, and finance
  • Participate in daily stand-up, sprint review and sprint planning sessions

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working with RDBMS (Mssql, Postgres, Teradata, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience architecting and building enterprise-scale data warehouses
  • 5+ years of experience with relational and dimensional data modeling
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and the ability to write, test, and optimize SQL queries
  • Familiarity with data governance, data catalog, master data management best practices
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math, or related field

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience with Cloud Data Warehouse solutions (Snowflake)
  • 1+ year of experience with Azure Data Products (ADF, Blob Storage)
  • 1+ year of experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow)
  • 1+ year of experience with Python, R, or other scripting languages
  • 1+ year of experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of data science and machine learning models
