Remote (road warrior) Central California
This position will be responsible for the product development process for the HM.CLAUSE Processing Tomato product portfolio in California.
The Product Development Specialist will plan, coordinate, and execute all activities of the product development process and make product advancement recommendations to meet market/customer needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides a high level of service and product information to customers.
Develops and implements annual trial plans to identify new varieties that will meet customer needs, ensuring timely seed sample availability.
Establishes, maintains, and evaluates product development trials and analyses the resulting product performance data to determine strengths, weaknesses, features and benefits of new products and makes product advancement recommendations to Sales and Marketing colleagues.
Develops and implements PD action plans to build a sustainable pipeline.
Monitors market trends and competitive landscape.
Builds in-depth knowledge about key competitor products.
Works closely with the PTOM Sales Manager, PTOM Technical Sales Representative, West Region Sales & Product Development Manager, Product Managers, Breeders and associates and provides detailed monthly Product Development reports.
Participates in trade shows, field days and other product development related events.
Contributes to the resolution of product performance issues with customers in collaboration with the sales team.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Agronomy, Horticulture, or equivalent field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3 years product development experience in agriculture, preferably in the Vegetable Seed industry.
