We’re looking for a software engineering manager to join our Connected Living Platform team, which is responsible for creating the services and applications supporting Comcast's Home Security, Home Network Management and Internet of Things products. In this role, you will directly manage one or more multi-disciplinary teams of software developers and test engineers with an emphasis on our IoT solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (management, web, mobile and API developers, UX designers, test engineers, operations engineers, product and business managers) to lead project initiatives for Connected Living applications. You’ll love this position if you’re a strong, hands-on technical leader, an independent, critical and problem solver, who has excellent communication skills and can rapidly adapt to changing business and customer demands. In this position, you’ll:
Manage engineering teams of approx. 3-5 Engineers including full time employees and contractors
Enable collaboration between onshore and offshore teams
Provide regular feedback and coaching regarding both job performance and career development
Lead development and release of one or more projects across Connected Living
Leading by example and guiding engineers through their career growth and championing engineering standards
Develop and mentor engineering talent
Partner with other subject area leaders across Connected Living, client, application, support, and operations, enabling successful execution of the Connected Living vision
Prioritize and lead development timelines to meet dependencies and commitments.
Provide regular program updates to senior leadership on critical project and incident follow-up items
Drive strategy and oversee the future development of various Comcast products and services across multiple platforms.
Lead the evaluation of new and existing development by ensuring customer feedback and best practices are used to evolve and improve.
Provide direction to keeps teams aligned and on track, ensuring a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.

You possess experience leading or managing engineers
You possess excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills

You regularly anticipate technical issues, and lead teams to avoid them.
You are knowledgeable in the Software Development Lifecycle, Agile Methodologies, Continuous Integration and Deployment
You possess a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code quality and production stability
You have a minimum of five years of professional experience developing, deploying, and supporting microservices with high availability and reliability
You have strong hands-on technical skills, and can contribute to coding and architecture
You are experienced with Go, Node.js, and/or Python
You have experience with source code control, CI/CD, DevOps, serverless technologies, event driven architectures
You have good knowledge of, and experience with, AWS Cloud services
