  • IDEX Biometrics, a leading developer of fingerprint sensor solutions, is seeking an experienced Digital ASIC Verification Engineer to lead the development and architecture of the verification environment for state-of-the-art embedded systems for fingerprint sensing subsystems. This is a key role that will help IDEX Biometrics develop and refine our verification strategy and tools. As a Senior Verification Engineer, you will work closely with colleagues in the Silicon organization as well as with the IDEX R&D, System Engineering, Software Engineering and Sensor Development teams to deliver high-volume products based on cutting-edge sensor technologies into the Smart Card, Mobile and IoT markets.
Tasks and responsibilities:
  • Join a team of digital engineers focused on development of embedded system ASICs and peripheral devices.
  • Lead the architecture development of verification environment; interpret requirements, analyze potential solutions, debug and document results.
  • Writing scripts, testbenches, tests; document flows, procedures and results of the verification methodology.
  • Perform design verification with SystemVerilog and UVM, potentially from both a sub-block level and top level.
  • Provide or develop a vision for verification that incorporates early software development and readily translates to the silicon validation phase.
  • Apply creative approaches to achieving functional coverage and ensuring overall design quality. Recommend and evaluate EDA tools that support such processes.
  • Create abstract simulation models for analog and/or sensor components as necessary to improve the fidelity of the digital testbench.
  • Verify/certify licensed IP as appropriate.
  • Ensure timely status reports.
  • Support existing projects.
  • Meet with engineers and other company members on and off site as required.
  • Collaborative with Mixed-Signal, System, Firmware, Software, Validation and Test teams.
Required Experience:
  • At least 10 years’ experience in design, development and/or verification of digital ASICs.
  • Ability to devise, implement and distribute verification processes, flows and methodologies.
  • Ability to create detailed written specifications of verification environment(s).
  • Ability to create detailed verification/test plans.
  • Ability to explain verification concepts at various levels.
  • Ability to verify and debug SoC and Encryption based systems, including mixed signal designs.
  • Knowledgeable of the multiple microcontroller core architectures.
  • Knowledge of Encryption/Decryption and Hash algorithms and of various serial port communication interfaces such as SPI, UART and I2C.
  • Experience in writing Verilog and System Verilog, within a UVM-based environment.
  • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
Desirable Experience:
  • Ability to mentor and lead a team of verification engineers.
  • Ability to work effectively within a geographically distributed, cross-functional team organization, including contractors at various world-wide locations.
Education:
  • BS / MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field.
