  • The Network Software team spans a breadth of exciting projects (Inventory, Orchestration, 5G, IoT and Network products) and develops software that exposes Telstra’s various network domains to northbound IT systems, Customer interfacing portals and Automation tools. The goal is to eliminate silos and make way to automate network exposure, eventually leading to an end-to-end automated ecosystem; making it easier, faster and more secure for partners/customers to connect and leverage our network. To enable this the team brings together specialised Network Software Engineers who have a deep domain knowledge of a Network domain area AND Software Development skills.
Role purpose summary
  • This role will support Telstra’s strategic T25 vision through development of software and integration of Orchestration and Inventory solutions to deliver leading edge products and services to Telstra’s customers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, install, integrate, and maintain complex network technologies and platforms with Telstra processes and systems to deliver products and services to customer business units for mobile network provisioning.
  • Translate customer (internal, external or regulatory) needs and requirements, using technical principles into reusable API based micro-services.
  • Utilise on premises and cloud technologies to deploy applications
  • Partake in development work based in Java producing micro-services and partake in subsequent deployment.
  • Set up and maintain CICD pipelines, into production
  • Contribute to planning and design sessions, utilising agile ceremonies and techniques, providing estimation to the team
  • Integrate solutions by executing on security and operational requirements
  • Assess capability of vendor solutions and offerings to meet business requirements and manage vendor technology delivery.
  • Assess capability of internal systems and offerings to meet business requirements.
  • Develop platform specific technology functionality for business requirements that leverage opportunities from evolving and future technologies.
  • Provide level 3/ 4 support as part of a DevOps team
About you
  • To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in:
  • Java Springboot
  • Designing and developing real time data sync APIs using KAFKA
  • Designing and developing microservices, REST/JSON APIs
  • Test Automation, building stubs etc
  • Apigee API management gateway
  • GIT, Bamboo, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence etc
  • Database knowledge (Postgress, Oracle, etc.)
Highly Desirable
  • 8+ years’ experience in telecommunications or related software-based roles
  • Bachelor level degree in telecommunications engineering or software engineering
  • JavaScript frameworks (REACT, NodeJS)
  • Telecom and Inventory management experience
  • DevOPs, CICD, Agile methodologies
  • Data migration experience, Apache spark
  • AWS cloud environment and related development tools
