Job Summary
  • The goal of this role is to assure that the electronics solutions will be delivered to specifications, standards, codes requirements, on time, on cost, and on quality (provide guidance to our quality team for quality assurance methods), according to the project targets. The incumbent will develop concepts and design requirements for electronics systems to be used in the outdoor BBQ business. The incumbent will work closely with third party software/hardware engineers, supplier, mechanical engineers, Internet of Things (IoT) Engineers, and regulatory compliance agencies.
  • Core responsibilities would include being the point of contact for internal and third-party work on design and controls for electronic appliances which includes creating specifications for electronic components, interfacing with external developers, factories, etc. and checking/testing work/output, and making component and system level recommendations, define the development process for electronics (including DFMEA & EE specific tools) inside NPD process.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Integrate electronics solutions for new products
  • System-level design/cost/quality/time tradeoffs and technical decision making for electronics projects
  • Internet of Things (IoT) development
  • Ensure project development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirement, including cost, quality, and performance targets
  • Drive system validation during concept, design, and product validation stages
  • Drive electronics requirements and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
  • Be able to design electrical functional circuits
  • Determine the electrical/electronic interface system on the product, manage configuration files, and configure systems according to the product specifications
  • Responsible for System - subsystem level design requirements, product descriptions, and failure mode and effects analysis
  • Define and manage Interfaces to all sub-systems in compliance with the system solution
  • Support definition of system validation plans, execute system validation testing and work with Verification & Validation Engineers to ensure traceability to verification
  • lead technical design reviews in collaboration with engineers and product teams
  • Take ownership of tech concepts, solutions, risks/mitigation plans, and support the organization for the creation of cost estimates on proposals
  • Provide timely and objective communications up, across, and down into the organization
  • Resolves conflicts and issues
Qualification Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, System Integration Engineering. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: 10+ years of Electronics experience, System Integration Engineering & Technical Design Experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • 5+ years leadership experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Performance Management experience
  • Experience in goal setting
  • Experience with electronics: Hardware design, Software design, knowledge of prototyping and testing support, components, wiring. System Integration and design
  • IOT development
