Digital Solution Engineer - Electron Microscopy
How will you make an impact?
  • Due to our growth in our Value-add Services within the MSD (Materials and Structural Analysis) division. We are looking for an experienced Digital Service Engineer, to take care of IT and infrastructure related matters, in the different market segments [Life Science, Material Science and Semiconductor]
  • In this position you will work closely together with the Sales and support organization to ensure a smooth introduction, delivery and support of our digital solutions, and services. In this position you will have a direct interface with the customer and interact with the implementation and support teams. It is your responsibility to provide all the necessary information to manage the full landscape of the deployment of the IT solution including the integration with the customers infrastructure and enable the remote support capabilities.
What will you do?
Specific deliverables associated with this position include:
  • Engage with sales during pre-sales phase as a consultant to design the integration of the IT solution with the local infrastructure and answer all IT related questions.
  • Ensure systems are setup for remote diagnostics and health monitoring.
  • Engage with the development and operations organization to provide input to manuals, training, and customer facing material.
  • Perform automated deployments using configuration management technology;
  • Provide support to the installations within the SLA as agreed with the customer utilizing our processes.
  • Conduct detailed troubleshooting and analysis of system or SW and infrastructure problems that affect reliability, performance, etc. of our delivered systems.
  • Support factory and development teams with first deployments, installs and upgrades of newly introduced systems and modules to ensure proper working order.
  • Engage in CIP process to improve process.
How will you get there?
Education:
  • Bachelor or Master degree in ICT Computer Science or a technical / SW discipline, or equal through work experience.
  • Experience in IT application management;
  • Experience with data storage and (remote) software installations, support and trouble shooting.
  • Thorough comprehension of fundamental networking protocols, including TCP, STP, ARP, Ethernet, OSPF, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Fundamental understanding and hands-on experience with network technologies including firewalls, content filters, routing/switching, VLANs, wireless networks technologies, IoT.
  • Knowledge, or experience with: Monitoring tools, Linux, VMWare, Automation and Scripting, Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with supervising a small team is a pre
  • Proven customer facing skills and team player.
  • Motivated to work in a fast changing and highly technical environment.
  • Open to travel up to 25%-50% of time (mainly regional).
