Manager, Web Development
  • PagerDuty is looking for a Manager to help lead a high-performing marketing web development team responsible for bringing our digital web user journeys to life. In this role, you will lead a team to define, architect, and build seamless website experiences that drive user acquisition and retention at PagerDuty. You will use your business insight plus your expertise in the newest technologies to provide creative solutions to drive change across PagerDuty's web platform.
  • You'll lead the partnership with a variety of teams — from content producers and marketing analytics teams, to design, UX, and our SEO team to ensure the website is technically sound, optimized, and successful in helping us achieve our goals and KPIs. Engineers own production services end-to-end, so you and your team will be deploying multiple times a week as part of an Agile process.
  • You will mentor and coach a team of web developers who are passionate about solving end-user problems. You will make meaningful contributions to the success of the Marketing organization and our mission of providing outstanding user experiences.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of web developers while being actively involved in driving and growing business initiatives, as both a team member and a mentor.
  • Lead planning of key strategic projects that are aligned with our marketing and business strategies.
  • Establish and adhere to standard methodologies in development, design, and test to ensure the team is providing outstanding quality work and is continuously gaining trust from stakeholders.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and team status reports.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Partner with other technical and non-technical teams to align technology decisions, development standards/practices, and successfully implement the overall strategy.
  • Partner with business functions to ensure value is delivered through innovative and effective solutions.
Requirements
  • 5+ years previous experience designing and developing websites from initial concept, site architecture, and user interface to finished deliverable
  • 3+ years experience in a team lead/management position in a web development function or similar responsibilities supporting a mid-to-large scale global organization.
  • Strong leadership skills, executive presence, and communication skills.
  • Previous experience providing coaching, guidance, and performance managing individual contributors in technical positions.
  • Experience working and communicating with senior internal stakeholder teams with a track record of delivering quality solutions that increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Ability to juggle multiple, changing priorities while working in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Strong understanding of web UX design and conversion best practices, including usability, responsive design, testing, and technical SEO
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, requirements gathering, sprint processes, and ceremonies. Able to lead the group and help prioritize work
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology to define, refine, and implement processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Ability to navigate successfully in ambiguous situations and design effective processes.
  • Ability to project manage and problem-solve in an Agile development environment.
Preferred:
  • SaaS industry experience is a plus, including experience in both sales-assisted and online self-service environments.
