Position Summary:
  • The Associate Account Executive is responsible for increasing Sonic's customer base and promoting growth in revenue by presenting Sonic's products and services to potential customers and closing business. The position operates under the Associate Account Executive commission plan.
Special Note: 
  • This position is set up as an incubator for transitioning to the Account Executive (Outside Sales) position, some of the responsibilities of the Account Executive position will be present in the Associate Account Executive position, the intent is to expose the Associate Account Executive (AAE) to the Account Executive (AE) responsibilities in order to prepare them for the AE position. There is NO guarantee that the AAE will make the transition, only the exposure to the AE tasks and responsibilities and the opportunity to prove your ability to perform the responsibilities of the AE and position yourself for a transition should a AE position become available.
  • The maximum amount of time that an Associate Account Executive (AAE) will spend in the position is six (6) months at which point they should have positioned themselves for the Account Executive (AE) position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prospects new potential clients on a daily basis, establish viability of Sonic's product line to meet potential client's needs. Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources and calls off of lists procured by the company.
  • Calls on prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  • Develops network of referral partners to source/share qualified leads.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of Sonic's production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions.
  • Works with Sales Coordinator to keep account activities up to date.
  • Coordinates customer training/ COLO tours.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for customers into Sonics' CRM database (Salesforce)
  • Develops and maintains relationships with operations/provisioning contacts.
  • Place follow up calls / letters to customers as assigned by Account Executive.
  • Responsible for Proactive contact with assigned customers on a quarterly basis to create customer intimacy through product familiarity.
  • Must be capable of managing high value and complex customer's accounts.
  • Re-sign base customers to new term agreement contracts once existing contracts have expired.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Attends trade shows.
  • Joins leads group and attends meetings on a regular basis.
  • Maintains funnel management tool / Spreadsheet.
  • Provides activity and sales documentation to manager as required.
  • Achieve quota on a monthly basis.
  • Identifies buying criteria within an organization.
  • Completes and submits all required sales paperwork in a timely fashion (48 hours or less)
  • Participates in sales trainings and sales meetings.
